*** COVID-19*** Government restrictions have now lifted, Medical Acupuncture is allowed to continue. Our Members prime concern is for the safety of Patients and we have resumed face to face clinic treatments as per Government instruction with regard to COVID-19 virus. CURRICULUM
This module will be delivered in a variety of ways including classroom learning, practical assessments, group work, tutorials, directed home study and E-learning.
The module is assessed by work based case studies, written examination, practical examinations and by the submission of a portfolio of evidence linking theory to practice.
Class Room
Students will be given a portfolio to work with. Your Tutors will teach the formulae, treatment protocols, health & safety and legislation for acupuncture. The course includes learning the meridians, moxibustion, electro-acupuncture, auricular acupuncture. This will involve practicing on each other in a class room/clinic setting.
Directed Study
As this is an academic course it will involve home study and practical application. Your Tutors will guide you as to what you need to do. There are case studies to be completed, exam revision and practical revision
Assessment
During your course, you will be assessed in

Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE) format in clinic.

You will also complete several clinical case studies for examination.

An informal presentation of a condition

You will also complete a portfolio of evidence which contains your study, reflections and written work.
